Gather up the kids and hop over to these Easter egg hunts around the area. We’re giving you a jump on planning by mapping out a few events for you.

Saturday, April 8 – New Orleans City Park Egg Scramble

Hop over to the New Orleans City Park Egg Scramble at the park’s Carousel Gardens at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Kids can hunt for 100 golden eggs with tickets to City Park attractions. The event also includes music, face painters, a balloon artist and a special appearance by the Easter bunny. Event organizers say they expect this event to sell out, so purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are $10 per person. Friends of City Park tickets are $5 per member. Babies under 1 years old enter free.


Saturday, April 8 – Longue Vue House & Gardens Easter Egg Hunt

Families can enjoy an easter egg hunt at Longue Vue House and Gardens on Saturday. The event also features face painting, lawn games and plant sales. The morning hunt is already sold out, but tickets for the afternoon hunt at 12:30 p.m. are still available. Tickets start at $8.


Saturday, April 8 – St. Charles Parish Eighth Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Hunt for Easter eggs in Luling on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Edward J. Dufresne Community Center. The cost is $2 to participate. Pictures with the Easter Bunny are available for purchase.


Saturday, April 8 – Hammond Square Eggstravaganza

Over in Hammond, families can attend this free event on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Hammond Square. Other activities also include pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting and a balloon artist. Kids 12 and under can participate in the hunt.


Sunday, April 9 – New Orleans Opera Guild Home Easter Egg Hunt

The historic Opera Guild Home hosts an Easter egg hunt this Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person. Children under 2 are free. Advance tickets required.


Sunday, April 9 – Fifth Annual Kids Town Rubber Duck Regatta & Eggstravanganza

Hunt for eggs at this Easter-centric event on the North Shore this Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. This “Eggstravanganza” features hunts for approximately 15,000 Easter eggs in the green space adjacent to Lakeview Regional Medical Center near Covington. Other highlights include a rubber duck regatta race, face painting, arts and crafts, games, food, drink, dancing and other entertainment. Admission is $1 per person. Patrons can “adopt a duck” for $5.


Sunday, April 9 – Lakeview’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Head over to Lakeview Presbyterian Playground this Sunday at 12:15 p.m. to hunt for eggs and enjoy other kid activities. Plus, get a special visit from the Easter Bunny.


Sunday, April 9 – Aldersgate United Methodist Church Easter Egg Hunt

Bring your chairs and picnic blankets to Aldersgate United Methodist Church for a family picnic and egg hunt on Sunday starting at 11:15 a.m. Pack your own picnic lunch or purchase lunch for sale at the event.


Saturday, April 15 – Easter Eggstravaganza

Hop over to the Joe Brown Recreation Center this Saturday starting at 11 a.m. to the annual NORDC Easter Eggstravaganza. Children ages one to 12 will enjoy an Easter egg hunt, bounce houses, carnival games, raffles, and music at this free event. Don’t forget to bring your own basket.
