Irma Thomas, Al ‘Carnival Time’ Johnson among local music legends for Orpheus’ NOLA 300 Jam Fest

Deacon John, Irma Thomas and Al “Carnival Time” Johnson are among the local music icons performing at the Krewe of Orpheus’ 2017 Orpheuscapade Gala. The Krewe plans to honor the New Orleans Tricentennial with a huge musical post-parade bash dubbed the “NOLA 300 Jam Fest.”

The Krewe of Orpheus will present its Orpheuscapade Gala following the parade on Feb. 12 from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the Morial Convention Center. Orpheus members call it one of the most exciting post-parade bashes in history.

“New Orleans will have only one Tricentennial,” krewe captain Sonny Borey said. “We decided to honor our 300th birthday by throwing a party that is any music-lover’s dream featuring local musical legends.”
