Ahead of its Spring 2018 opening, Lakeshore Landing will host a free concert as part of a “sneak peek” of the new waterfront entertainment and recreation venue on Saturday.
The free event takes place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature performances by local bands Naughty Professor and The Fortifiers. Food trucks will be on site along with cash bars serving specialty cocktails and craft brews.
Event organizers say a percentage of proceeds from all food and beverages sold at the event will go toward the Tipitina Foundation’s Instruments A’ Comin’ program. Outside coolers backpacks, lawn chairs or umbrellas won’t be allowed into the lakefront site. However, foldable blankets are allowed.
Organizers say they will also collect a $5 parking fee per vehicle to benefit the Tipitina’s Foundation.
Lakeshore Landing is the newest development from Tipitina’s owners Mary and Roland Von Kurnatowski.
Upon completion, the family-friendly destination will include a marina store and fuel dock, an open air pavilion, a food hall style restaurant with outdoor decking, and a multi-purpose recreational and live event space. That space will include an amphitheater, festival grounds, green space and waterfront recreational opportunities.
Lakeshore Landing is located at 6701 Stars & Stripes Boulevard in New Orleans.
