Headliner Cowboy Mouth, the Bucktown All-Stars and the 610 Stompers are among the acts performing at the free, outdoor crawfish festival, Pinch A Palooza. Deanie’s Seafood releases the event schedule for the annual crawfish fest taking place on the grounds of the Bucktown restaurant and market from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 22.
The event features five bands, including headliners Cowboy Mouth, kids’ and adults’ crawfish eating contests, and a variety of activities and crawfish specialties.
The annual festival kicks off with a noon performance by local four-piece classic rock band Roux the Day. The Bucktown All-Stars, The Topcats, Vince Vance & The Valiants and closing act Cowboy Mouth round out the musical lineup. Also performing are New Orleans’ all-male dance krewe the 610 Stompers. Actor, comedian and New Orleans native Johnny Rock emcees the day’s festivities.
At 1 p.m., kids ages 6 to 12 years get to test their mettle at competitive eating during the second-annual Pinch A Palooza Junior Crawfish Eating Contest. Pinch A Palooza Junior contest participants sign up the day of the festival between noon and 1 p.m. A $5 entry fee includes a Pinch A Palooza 2018 T-shirt.
The adult Pinch A Palooza Crawfish Eating Contest heats take place at 2:35 and 3:10 p.m. The final round is at 4:35 p.m. Adults 18 and up can enter online at Pinchapalooza.com to compete in the Pinch A Palooza Crawfish Eating Contest.
