R&B Doo-wop quartet The Drifters, featuring with Rick Sheppard, tops the music lineup when the 2017 Uncle Sam Jam hits Lafreniere Park on July 3. Organizers for Jefferson Parish’s free, annual patriotic party announced this year’s lineup on Monday.
Festivities kick off at 4:30 p.m. at Lafreniere Park’s Al Copeland Concert and Meadow Stage. Louisiana Americana band Christian Serpas and Ghost Town ignites the night with their performance starting at 4:30 p.m. Lafayette native Ray Boudreaux, Metairie-based Top 40 cover band Mixed Nuts and Marc Brossard are all also slated to perform. Previously, the New Orleans Concert Band was also scheduled to hit the stage. However, organizers replaced the act with Marc Broussard.

A fireworks display ends the night with a bang around 9 p.m., and The Drifters will close out the jam.
Lafreniere Park is located at 3000 Downs Boulevard in Metairie, La.
