2019 Oak Street Po-Boy Fest: Here’s the mouth-watering po-boy menu

The 2019 Oak Street Po-Boy Fest features more than 30 vendors serving up their version of a po-boy on Sunday, Nov. 3.

Organizers released this year’s menu for the fest, which will celebrate New Orleans’ beloved sandwich on National Sandwich Day.

The fest takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting at South Carrollton Avenue and runs from the 8100 to 8800 blocks toward the River Road, with some activities pouring onto side streets. Four stages of music will also feature performances from local bands.

Each year, the tasty tradition features a po-boy competition where local restaurants battle for top honors.

In 2018, there were more than 50 different traditional and creative variations of the classic sandwich. Some of the winners included Red Fish Grill’s barbecue oyster po-boy, Boucherie’s smoked chicken po-boy and Parkway’s James Brown Po-Boy, which took home “Best of the Fest.”

While admission to the fest is free, you must purchase a $5 wristband in order to purchase po-boys.

Proceeds from the festival benefits Oak Street Merchants, Residents and Property Owners, whose mission is to stimulate the Oaks Street corridor.  A portion of proceeds also benefits Son of a Saint, a non-profit which exists to enhance the lives of fatherless boys through mentorship.

The complete menu for the 2019 Oak Street Po-Boy Fest is outlined below.
