2021 Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival canceled due to COVID-19

The 2021 Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival, scheduled for April 9 to April 11 at Memorial Park, has been canceled due to COVID-19, organizers announced via Facebook.

Organizers say they plan to host the 50th Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival on April 8 – 10, 2022.

Festival organizers announced the decision on its official Facebook page, canceling the annual North Shore event for the second year in a row.

“Over the past year, we have had many hard decisions to make. All decisions are made with countless meetings, discussions and prayer,” organizers said in a statement posted to Facebook.

Even though this year’s festival is canceled, organizers say they plan to move forward with the Farmer’s Auction and the Louisiana Strawberry Queen’s Pageant. More details will be released as plans are made for each event, organizers said.

Organizers say they are also working on reaching out to vendors and booth organizations.

The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is a free family-friendly, outdoor festival centered around Louisiana’s strawberry season. The three-day event shows off vendor booths, amusement rides, live entertainment, a state-level beauty pageant, a 10K road race and a parade.

More information about upcoming events will be announced on the festival’s Facebook page.
