The Contemporary Arts Center announced it will now require proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test for admission to its White Linen Night After Dark event on Saturday, Aug. 7.
The new policy mirrors updated COVID-19 protocols from a growing number of New Orleans businesses requiring proof of vaccination amid a fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
Guests will be required to show proof of vaccination or proof of recent negative COVID test within the last 72 hours at the door, museum officials said.
Admission to the White Linen Night, AFTER DARK event is also subject to the State of Louisiana’s mask mandate for indoor events and reduced capacity in accordance with the City of New Orleans’ COVID-19 regulations. Guests who have RSVP’d to the sold-out event and are unable to attend should contact the CAC at info@cacno.org.
Museum officials say guests may present their proof of vaccination using the LA Wallet app or showing a valid vaccination card. Walk-up admissions will be considered at the door after 9 p.m., depending on capacity.
White Linen Night AFTER DARK, the official after party of White Linen Night, features music by DJ RQ Away, drink specials, food trucks, a CAC VIP Membership Lounge, and more.
During the White Linen Night Julia Street art stroll from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., proof of vaccine is not required to view the CAC’s exhibition “Behind Every Beautiful Thing: Encountering Bodies, Wrestling the Human Condition,” although masks will be required with social distancing encouraged. Capacity limits will be monitored and enforced throughout the evening.
Nearly 20 contemporary art galleries and institutions will welcome back guests to visit and view exhibitions in person from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 300-600 blocks of Julia Street in the New Orleans’ historic Warehouse Arts District and surrounding areas. Art lovers can explore specially-curated exhibitions featuring works by local, regional, and internationally-renowned artists while enjoying music, cuisine, and libations.
