FOX Fall premiere week launches with ‘9-1-1’, ‘Masked Singer’, three brand-new series

It’s fall premiere week on FOX 8. Many of your favorite shows will be returning, but some new shows will also make their debut.

The primetime lineup launches on Sept. 20 featuring the return of medical drama “9-1-1,” the sixth season of hit competition series “The Masked Singer” and season five of “The Resident.”

Among the new shows premiering this season, “The Big Leap” is an uplifting new dramedy from creator Liz Heldens about “second chances, chasing your dreams and taking back what’s yours.” The show stars Scott Foley, Teri Polo and Piper Perabo.

Empire’s Lee Daniels returns as executive producer, joined by writer/executive producer Karin Gist, for “Our Kind of People.” The new series stars Yaya DaCosta as “a strong-willed, single mom as she sets out to reclaim her family’s name and make an impact with her revolutionary hair care line that highlights the innate, natural beauty of Black women. But she soon discovers a dark secret about her own mother’s past that will turn her world upside-down and shake up this community forever.”

Inspired by the success of “The Masked Singer,” new reality series “Alter Ego” aims to make history as “a first-of-its-kind avatar singing competition series and the next iteration of the musical competition show.” Judges include Alanis Morissette, Nick Lachey, Grimes and will.i.am.

‘The Masked Singer’ premieres Wednesday at 7 p.m. on FOX 8

‘Alter Ego’ premieres Wednesday at 8 p.m. on FOX 8
