Hogs for the Cause returns to Orleans Parish

The popular barbecue and music festival returns to Orleans Parish this spring

NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - Hogs for the Cause, the popular barbecue and music festival, announced the daily music lineup for the 2022 event heading back to the UNO Lakefront Arena Festival Grounds April 1-2.

Galactic with special guests Luther Dickinson & Corey Glover headlines the Friday lineup. Other acts taking the stage on Friday include James McMurtny, Neal Francis, Joshua Ray Walker, Buffalo Nichols, The Iceman Special, Eddie 9V, The Pink Stones and Jank Setup.

Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers top the Saturday lineup, along with Yonder Mountain String Band, Flatland Cavalry, Allison Russel, Mike and The Moonpies, New Orleans Suspects, Michot Melody Makers, The Glen David Andrews and Band People Museum.

“With the incredible talent we have coming to the 2022 event, we anticipate tickets could sell out before the event,” Becker Hall, co-founder and chief executive officer of Hogs for the Cause, said in a release. “We invite everyone to join us for fundraising and fun…it’s less than 75 days until the best weekend of the year.”

The festival returns to Orleans Parish this spring. In June 2021, the charity barbecue cook-off moved to the Plaquemines Parish Government Facility in Belle Chasse while the UNO Lakefront Arena operated as a COVID testing site. The 2021 event raised nearly $3 million dollars, organizers said.

Organizers also launched single-day ticket sales for the annual fundraising event.

Tickets for the Friday event start at $50 each, Saturday tickets start at $60 each and can be purchased at www.hogsfest.org.
