PICAYUNE, Miss. (NOLA WEEKEND) - With just a short road trip to North Hancock County, you can bask in a stunning field of sunflowers at Coastal Ridge Farm. Located in Picayune, Miss., visitors can wander through the 15-acre farm with thousands of tall sunflowers and even pick their own to take home.
Owner Terri Doyle works the sunflower fields at the family-owned, you-pick farm. The farm opens seasonally twice a year in the spring and fall.
“Right now, in the month of June, is when the sunflowers will grow their very tallest,” Doyle told Gulf Coast Weekend in an interview. “Some of these are probably up to 10 or 12 foot tall.”
At the sunflower farm, people are invited to wander the fields, take photos and pick a basket of sunflowers to take home. Doyle calls a trip to the hidden gem a “good family activity.”
“And when [people are] finished cutting and walking around, they’ll come back and tell you they were just relaxed looking at the flowers,” Doyle said.
We are open. Beautiful new flowers blooming. Open Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon 9am - 8pm. Come in the mornings, it's...
