METAIRIE, La. (NOLA WEEKEND) - The former Metry Café & Bar in Old Metairie will soon get a facelift transforming it into a new hangout with rooftop dining.
The new concept, Parish Line Bistro Bar, is slated to open in August, replacing the decades-old building at 601 Metairie Road.
Parish Line will feature modern decor with several accents that acknowledge the nearby railroad tracks, an extensive wine and cocktail menu and the only rooftop dining space in Metairie, according to a release announcing the venture.

“The building transformation is going to be amazing,” Mickey Parenton, one of the project’s partners, said in a release. “Old Metairie deserves a dining experience like this and we are proud to bring it to our neighborhood.”
The menu will be headed by Chris Wilson, co-owner of Larder Gourmet Market & Eatery in Metairie, who spent nearly 30 years with Emeril Lagasse before opening his own eatery during the pandemic. Wilson will come on board the new venture as strategic food partner.
Specifics about the menu haven’t been revealed, but Wilson says the food will “reflect its surroundings.”
“The food will feel like the building feels,” Wilson said in a statement.

Parish Line Bistro Bar is being developed by a partnership of four well-known New Orleans-area businessmen.
Along with Parenton, a Pinnacle Entertainment executive and hospitality industry veteran, the partners include New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, Fat Boy’s Pizza owner Gabe Corchiani and owner of The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate John Georges.
“We’ve wanted to team up on something like this for many years,” Corchiani said in a release. “The goal is a place that our wives and friends would enjoy — something that’s cutting edge and comfortable.”
