NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - Mary J. Blige will hit the road this fall on her first tour since the start of the pandemic. The singer’s “Good Morning Gorgeous” tour will stop in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center on Oct. 15.
The Grammy Award-winning artist, known as the “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul,” will make a 23-city trek across the U.S. for the tour kicking off in September in Greensboro, North Carolina and ending in October in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The tour also makes stops in other major cities, such as Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta.
The tour launches in support of Blige’s “Good Morning Gorgeous” album released earlier this year leading up to her performance during the Super Bowl Halftime show.
Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Ella Mai and rising R&B star and former American Idol contestant Queen Naija will join the tour as special guests.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on June 17 via Blackpromoterscollective.com. Ticket prices range from $69.50 to $189.50.
Over the course of her 30-year music career, Blige has become one of the defining voices of the contemporary music era and a force in R&B music. The singer was recently honored as one of Time magazine’s icons in “The 100 Most Influential People of 2022″ and the recipient of the 2022 “Billboard ICON Award.”
This past February, she performed at the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar.
Over her career, Blige has released 15 studio albums and is known for her passionate, chart-topping hits like “Be Without You,” “No More Drama,” and “Family Affair.”
