NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - New Orleans’ popular all-male dance team, the 610 Stompers, wants to know if you have the moves to join their squad. For the first time in three years, the group will host tryouts on Aug. 20.
Hopefuls can put their moves to the test in the first round of auditions at Southport Hall, 200 Monticello Ave. in New Orleans.
The 610 Stompers, known for high-energy dance performances in Carnival parades and New Orleans events, have also performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
The first round of auditions starts at 8:30 a.m., with the first 75 hopefuls in line receiving a number to try out for judges. Participants will learn a routine before performing on the main stage in front of an audience.
The team announced auditions with a hype video via their Facebook page.

The public is invited to watch auditions at noon. Tickets to watch the show cost $10 via Eventbrite in advance or at the door.
Participants selected from the first round will get a slot at the final auditions on Saturday, Aug. 27.
