Paramore heading to New Orleans on first major arena tour in five years

NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - Pop-punk band Paramore will hit the road next year for its first major arena tour in five years, which will stop in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center on July 6.

Paramore, which consists of lead vocalist Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York and drummer Zac Farro, announced Friday a huge North American tour in support of the band’s long-awaited sixth studio album “This Is Why” scheduled for release on Feb. 10.

The 26-city tour kicks off in May 2023 with stops at iconic arenas across the country including New York’s Madison Square Garden.

British rockers Foals and Los-Angeles based rock band The Linda Lindas will provide support for the New Orleans show.

In September, Paramore released a new single and the upcoming album’s title track “This Is Why,” the band’s first new music since 2017.

Last month, the band set out for a limited-engagement U.S. tour, marking Paramore’s first tour since 2018, including shows at more intimate theater venues and festival appearances.

Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Friday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. local time on the band’s website, Paramore.net.
