NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - This holiday season, the inaugural Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade will roll through the streets of New Orleans on Dec. 3.

Organizers call the new parade the “first-of-its-kind for New Orleans.” Kicking off the holiday season, the parade features more than 20 floats, including custom-designed holiday-themed floats that include animatronic props, intelligent lighting systems, special effects and audio systems, along with traditional rider floats.

The parade will also feature high-flying helium balloons displayed for the first time in New Orleans, along with the beloved marching groups and bands that the citizens of New Orleans have come to love – and of course, Santa himself with his cast of holiday characters.

Float builder and parade producer Kern Studios shared renderings that reveal a sneak peek of this year’s float designs, including one that pays homage to the historic department store Maison Blanche and its iconic holiday mascot Mister Bingle.
