2023 Hogs for the Cause music lineup announced

NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - Hogs for the Cause, the popular barbecue and music festival, announces its initial 2023 musical lineup for its 15th-anniversary event at the UNO Lakefront Arena festival grounds on March 31 to April 1.

Headlining the 2023 event are Alabama’s electrifying soul powerhouse St. Paul and the Broken Bones and the genre-bending Devon Allman Project featuring JoJo Hermann of Widespread Panic with special guests George Porter, Jr. and Anders Osborne.

St. Paul and the Broken Bones has shared the stage with The Rolling Stones, Lizzo and The Black Pumas and played every renowned music festival from Coachella to Glastonbury. Six-piece band, the Devon Allman Project, is led by Allman, son of Allman Brother’s Band co-founder Gregg Allman.

More than two dozen artists will appear at this year’s festival, playing across three stages, alongside nearly 90 barbecue teams serving mouth-watering BBQ and vying for the title of Grand Champion.

Other notable artists include Charles Wesley Godwin, Bartees Strange, Shinyribs, The Sheepdogs, The Heavy Heavy, The Wilder Blue and Ian Noe.

“We work hard to bring the best of the best each year, and 2023 will be no different,” said Becker Hall, co-founder and chief executive officer of Hogs for the Cause. “We are so excited to announce this year’s Hogs lineup. With award-winning artists, nationally acclaimed musicians, and local and regional favorites, it’s no wonder Hogs has exploded into a music festival to rival the best.”

In 2022, Hogs for the Cause headed back to its traditional location at the UNO Lakefront Arena Festival Grounds after being displaced to Plaquemines Parish in 2021.

“As our event grows each year, so too does our ability to provide more funding for those families in need,” said Rene Louapre, co-founder and chief operating officer. “Beyond the main Hogs event, our teams raise money throughout the year at grassroots events in their hometowns and beyond. Without them, we would not have had a record-breaking year in 2022. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts.”

Specially priced two-day tickets are available now at HogsFest.org. Single-day tickets will go on sale soon.
