Outdoor concert, movie series brings free family fun to Kenner through May

KENNER, La. (NOLA WEEKEND) - If you’re looking for more music and entertainment to cure the post-Jazz Fest blues, the City of Kenner offers more festivities to fill your calendar this month.

Kenner city officials announced a free concert and music series, called Music in the Park and Movies in the Park, on Fridays and Saturdays, respectively, at Heritage Park in May. The series kicked off on May 5 and continues through May 27.

The music series features performances from local bands, while the movie series offers family-friendly screenings. Music In The Park will have arts and craft vendors on-site, and both events will have concessions available for purchase.

Music In the Park events occur every Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Movies In The Park events happen every Saturday at 8 p.m.

May 12: Contraflow, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

May 19: The Top Cats, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

May 26: Category 6, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Movies in the Park

May 13: ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,’ 8 p.m.

May 20: ' Lyle, Lyle Crocodile,’ 8 p.m.

May 27: ‘Minions: Rise of Gru,’ 8 p.m.

Heritage Park is located at 2015 Fourth St. in Kenner.
