Boo at the Zoo

Bring your little goblins to Audubon Zoo for the kid-friendly Boo at the Zoo this Friday and Saturday. This annual Halloween event kicks off each night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Children up to age 12 can enjoy trick-or-treat houses, a Ghost train, a haunted house, games and entertainment. 'Escape to Margaritaville' Opens at the Saenger Theatre

Jimmy Buffett fans can hear his classics become part of the musical “Escape to Margaritaville” opening this weekend at the Saenger Theatre. The musical is based on the story of a part-time singer and bartender who gets swept off his feet by a beautiful career-minded tourist. Tickets start at $36, plus applicable fees.

NOLA Mac n' Cheese Fest

Saturday, Oct. 21

Get your mac n’ cheese fix at this inaugural festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. More than a dozen restaurants will fill Armstrong Park to serve their best mac n’ cheese recipes to the public, professional judges and celebrity judges. There will be live music from George Porter, Jr. and other local favorites. Free admission.

NOLA Cochon de Lait Festival

Saturday, Oct. 21

After you had enough mac n ‘cheese, head over to Palmer Park and get yourself some delicious pork. This new festival will feature local restaurants serving up savory pork delicacies, as well as other food vendors serving New Orleans classics. Music will be provided by Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Soul Rebels, Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and others. Free admission.

Krewe of Boo Halloween Parade

Saturday, Oct. 21

Celebrate the countdown to Halloween with the Krewe of Boo parade this weekend. The spooky-themed parade rolls at 6:30 p.m., starting on Elysian Fields Avenue in the Marigny.
