Friday, Nov. 16 – Sunday, Nov. 18

Celebration in the Oaks offers a sneak peak with three preview parties this weekend at New Orleans City Park before the holiday attraction opens to the public on Nov. 23.

Wing Wars

Saturday, Nov. 17

Chicken wings anyone? A new fall food festival puts chicken wings in the spotlight. The inaugural Wing Wars festival takes flight at Central City BBQ on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Nearly twenty local and regional restaurants will serve up more than 40,000 chicken wings in every way. General admission to is $10 for early bird tickets, $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Fete Des Fromages

Saturday, Nov. 17

Love wine and cheese? A new cheese fest, Fete Des Fromages, debuts on Saturday. More than 100 artisan cheeses from around the globe will land at the grounds of the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint. Guests can sample cheeses, specialty foods, wine, cider and beer. Cooking demonstrations will also also be a part of the mix. The festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ticket prices increase to $30 for adults and $12 for children.

BubblyFest 2018

Saturday, Nov. 17

Bacchanal Wine hosts its annual BubblyFest on Saturday starting at 3 p.m. Taste more than 35 grower Champagnes and sparkling wines at the Bywater backyard party. Tickets are $15, plus tax. You can buy tickets on-site at 1 p.m. on the day of the event.

Treme Creole Gumbo Festival

Saturday, Nov. 17 – Sunday, Nov. 18

You’re in for a smoking combo of brass bands and gumbo. Celebrate one of New Orleans’ favorite foods at the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival. The fest takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Grammy-winning Rebirth Brass Band will headline the festival along with Ashlin Parker’s mega group Trumpet Mafia. Food vendors will serve different types of gumbo to try along with cooking demonstrations, live music, kids activities and an arts market. Admission is free.

Louisiana Renaissance Festival

Saturday, Nov. 17 – Sunday, Nov. 18

Harken back to the 16th century as the Louisiana Renaissance Festival . Visitors can visit the “Village of Albright” and experience an adventure full of entertainment, theatre, rides, educational demonstrations, holiday shopping and food. The festival takes place Saturdays and Sundays from 9:45 a.m. to dusk, from now through Dec. 9.

Falaya Fest

Saturday, Nov. 17

The second annual Falaya Fest will feature nearly a dozen music acts at Bouge Falaya Wayside Park in downtown Covington. Acts like Cowboy Mouth, Stone Rabbits and Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue fill the lineup. The fest will also have popular local food vendors and restaurants. Advance tickets are $18. Tickets at the gate are $20. Children ages 10 and under enter free.

Oscar Mayer Wienermobile tour

Saturday, Nov. 17 – Sunday, Nov. 18

The iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will roll around the New Orleans metro this month, representatives from Oscar Mayer announced. The giant hot dog will make two stops this weekend. On Saturday, the Wienermobile will stop in Kenner at the Touch-a-Truck from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, find the hot dog on wheels in Covington at Rouses from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fans are invited to snap fun photos with the Wienermobile and get their very own Wiener Whistle.
