Delta Festival Ballet Presents 'The Nutcracker'

The Delta Festival Ballet presents two performances of the classic Christmas tale, “The Nutcracker,” this weekend at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and guests artists from the American Ballet Theatre help to bring the holiday classic to life. Tickets are on sale for two shows on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Ticket prices range from $35 to $85.

Royal Sonesta's Teddy Bear Tea

Friday, Dec. 22 – Saturday, Dec. 23

It’s a winter wonderland at the Royal Sonesta’s Teddy Bear Tea. Don’t miss your last chance to check out the event this weekend on Friday and Saturday. Each day offers two tea times at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Little princes and princesses will meet Mrs. Claus, sing-a-long with Rudolf and friends and have an opportunity to take a photo with Santa. Prices are $59 for adults and $34 for children.

NOLA ChristmasFest

Friday, Dec. 22 – Sunday, Dec. 24

This family-friendly indoor Christmas festival at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center opened on Thursday and continues throughout December. The fest will open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Get filled with holiday cheer with this fest jam-packed with activities including an indoor ice skating rink, ice slides and carnival rides. Santa and all his friends also make an appearance. General admission tickets are $20. Children ages 2 and under enter free.

Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the Saenger Theatre

Friday, Dec. 22 – Sunday, Dec. 24

Families can see the stage adaptation of the beloved holiday classic film “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” this weekend at the Saenger Theatre. The musical tells the story of two showbiz buddies finding their perfect mates while putting on a show in a Vermont inn. Tickets are on sale for two shows on Friday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and two shows on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. There’s also a Sunday showing at 1 p.m. Tickets start at $30. The show closes on Sunday.

Flow Tribe's Christmas Crunktacular 2017

Saturday, Dec. 23

Music lovers can catch Flow Tribe at 10 p.m. on Saturday at Tiptina’s for their “Christmas Crunktacular.” The “New Orleans street funk” band is on tour promoting their new album “BOSS.” Advance general admission tickets are $16.

Christmas Eve Bonfires on the Levee

Sunday, Dec. 24

A long-standing tradition takes place this Sunday. The lighting of bonfires happens along the Mississippi River levee in St. John and St. James parishes on Christmas Eve. The official synchronized lighting time 7 p.m. River Parishes officials recommend that you get into the area before 6 p.m. Parking is available in lots along LA 641. If you are interested in driving through, take LA 3213 to LA 44 (exit before the bridge). This will take you to the first bonfire. Drive along River Road through Gramercy and Lutcher.

New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Saints face off against the ultimate division rival the Atlanta Falcons at noon on Sunday. This highly-anticipated Christmas Eve home game is sure to be explosive. Fiyabird: A Soulful Christmas with Robin Barnes & Friends

The “Songbird of New Orleans” brings a treat to locals on Christmas Eve. The songstress hosts a show at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at Ace Hotel New Orleans. Several special guests join her on stage to bring some holiday cheer to music lovers. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
