Ship Island Excursions kicks off its season along the Gulf Coast with exciting boat rides to West Ship Island. This year, the ferry excursion company plans to expand its service with a new ferry location in Biloxi.
Ship Island Excursions will establish a daily trip starting May 12, when a vessel will launch from a dock at the Margaritaville Hotel in Biloxi, according to a report from WLOX. Ferry rides from Gulfport have already started for the season.
West Ship Island officially opened to the public in late March, following renovations and repairs to areas damaged by Hurricane Nate in fall of 2017.
Pristine beaches, natural beauty, and a significant history can all be found on Ship Island, which is just a 50-minute ferry ride from the Gulfport Harbor. Miles of quiet shoreline surround Ship Island, one of Mississippi’s four barrier islands. The location is a popular getaway for people looking for a quick vacation.
