The 2019 King Cake Festival will bring a parade of delicious king cakes to Champions Square from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27.
Organizers say more than 20 bakeries, great music and a new raffle are set to make the family-friendly festival bigger than ever in 2019.
This year’s musical entertainment features four great headline acts, among others. Dwayne Dopsie, Marshland, One South Lark and Phil Melancon will perform as fest-goers sample unique, interesting and delicious king cakes from bakeries across the region.
The Carnival-themed festival will feature unique and traditional king cakes battling to get their king cake crowned the best at the festival.
A panel of judges will award winners in the categories of “Best Presentation,” “Best Traditional,” “Most Unique” and more, while festival-goers will crown their crowd favorite as “People’s Choice.”
Entrance to the festival is free and open to the public. Tasting tickets are sold at the festival for $20 for 10 tickets.
