New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is known for his big plays on the football field. Now, the star player makes more money moves and adds new flavor to the local juice bar scene.
Baton Rouge-based The Big Squeezy opens its first New Orleans location at 303 St. Charles Avenue in the Central Business District, with Kamara as co-owner.
The Big Squeezy celebrated a grand opening for the New Orleans location on Friday, March 12. The Big Squeezy has other Louisiana locations in Mandeville, Hammond and Baton Rouge.
With Karama’s step in the juicing industry, the concept will give patrons opportunities to enjoy healthy options while educating them about healthier lifestyles without “sacrificing the taste and flavor loved so dearly in New Orleans,” a release about the opening said.
Guests can also expect bright colors and “a fun soundtrack” at the new “highly-interactive space.”
“I’m so excited to be able to provide New Orleans with a new juice experience,” Kamara said in a release. “We put a lot of hard work and thought into this location and we’re so happy to finally be able to share it with the community!”
The juice bar boasts the benefits of cold-press juice, which is said to retain enzymes and other nutrients than the traditional pasteurization process.
The Big Squeezy opened its first location in December 2013, with its flagship location based in Baton Rouge in the Perkins Road overpass area.
