Barcadia transforms Warehouse District bar into Mardi Gras pop-up during Carnival

A spokesperson for the bar says the “one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras experience” came to life through a partnership with local entertainment icon Carl Mack of Carl Mack Presents. Barcadia recently partnered with Mack during the holidays for a similar Christmas pop-up experience.

The Mardi Gras transformation features decorations that capture the spirit of parade throws raining down from floats and nine Carnival-themed cocktails. It’s an effort to tap into crowds gearing up to watch parades near the Warehouse District area.

In addition to festive decor, guests can choose from a customized drink list inspired by classic New Orleans cocktails including the Mardi Gras Mule, Spicy Orpheus and Old Fashioned Endymion, among others.

Barcadia will still have its lineup of arcade games and vintage board games for kids and adults to enjoy. Staff will be dressed in themed costumes, and there will be photo opportunities throughout the space.

The bar will allow children of all ages until 9 p.m. After 9 p.m., the bar will only open to ages 21 or older.

Barcadia is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. at 601 Tchoupitoulas Street.
