Blue Bell ‘Christmas Cookies’ Ice Cream Hits Store Shelves

Following the popularity of Bride’s Cake ice cream in New Orleans, Blue Bell hopes locals will feel the same about their holiday flavor, Christmas Cookies. The company announced the flavor hit store shelves via Facebook.

Blue Bell describes the flavor as “your favorite holiday cookies – chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and sugar – combined in a tasty sugar cookie ice cream with red candy cane-shaped sprinkles and a green icing swirl throughout.”

The holiday flavor is available for a limited time during the holiday season.

Public relations manager Jenny Van Dorf says this isn’t the first time the flavor was a hit with ice cream fans.

“We first produced Christmas Cookies in 2011 and it was such a hit, that we once brought it back in summer to celebrate Christmas in July,” Van Dorf said.

Blue Bell also release two other limited-edition, holiday-themed flavors last week — Peppermint and Peppermint Bark.

Peppermint is described as “a refreshing peppermint ice cream sprinkled with peppermint candy pieces.” Peppermint Bark is “a smooth mint ice cream loaded with luscious dark chocolate chunks and tasty white chocolate chunks containing crushed peppermint candies.”
