Soul Rebels vs. Pocket Aces vs. Treme Brass Band
A showdown between several of New Orleans top brass bands kicks off Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Fair Grounds. The track hosts its inaugural “Brass Band Throw Down,” which features a battle between Pocket Aces Brass Band, the Soul Rebels and the Treme Brass Band.
Many brass band fans pledge allegiance to their favorite acts, so it should be interesting to see who comes out on top.
“Brass bands are a mainstay of the rich musical history in the New Orleans culture and we look forward to hosting some of the best bands the city has to offer at one of the city’s truly historic and traditional gathering places,” said track president Tim Bryant.
The evening of entertainment also includes sets by DJ Quinn of Impulse Entertainment. Advance tickets are available for purchase online for $10. General admission on Saturday night is $15. Event organizers say attendees must be 21 or older to enter.
