During the renovation, the interior of the Casino Building was completely refurbished including the studs being rebuilt and the exterior painted. Underground plumbing and the kitchen floor were also removed and replaced during construction.

“Café du Monde beignet restaurant will open its doors providing both locals and tourists alike a sugar experience that’s a true part of the New Orleans experience. We’re proud to be the home to the latest Café Du Monde. The Café Du Monde company, founded in 1862, is nearly as old as the Park. We’re thrilled to invite such an historic company to join the 169 year old City Park family,” Bob Becker, New Orleans City Park CEO said.
Café Du Monde will serve its three-to-an-order beignets and café au lait, among other treats including other coffee drinks like frozen mocha au lait, milk, and soft drinks. The City Park location will also host birthday parties, small events and will be available for catering.
In December 2018, Café du Monde won the highest bid during the big beignet battle for the 10-year lease in City Park. Since 2012, former occupants Morning Call operated the location and has no location at this time.
Hours of operation for the new Café du Monde are Sunday to Thursday from 6 a.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
