A new rooftop spot lands in the Bywater neighborhood. Capulet restaurant has opened its doors at the corner of Dauphine Street and Montegut Street.
Capulet is currently open for breakfast and lunch, serving Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The restaurant transforms into a venue space on evenings and weekends to host private banquets and events.
Chef and co-owner Chris St. John says he wants to bring his love for beer and “delicious sandwiches to Bywater,” via a release.
The menu plays up “classics with a twist,” bringing fresh takes to old standards. Capulet’s menu features sandwiches like the Kimchi BLT and the Bloody Mary Beef Sandwich. Diners can also find vegan and gluten-free options on the menu, like Broccoli Falafel — which includes pickled banana peppers, greens, onion, basil-lime cashew cream.
St. John describes Capulet as “a space where people can come, hang out, grab a drink or coffee, and get a delicious healthy (or unhealthy) lunch.”
Capulet is located at 3014 Dauphine Street along with The Warehouse, a coworking/shared office space that opened in 2016.
The building is a restored 1800s cotton warehouse with 30-foot soaring ceilings with exposed brick. The dining room includes mezzanine seating and can host around 200 guests. The rooftop deck includes a wet bar and features a panoramic view of the city.
