Catch it while you can! Blue Bell releases Mardi Gras King Cake ice cream

Locals craving more king cake-flavored treats can indulge in another option this Carnival. Blue Bell’s Mardi Gras King Cake Ice Cream hit supermarket store shelves this week, according to a company spokesperson.

The regional flavor is available in stores across Louisiana and parts of Southern Mississippi and Alabama. However, like several other popular special flavors, Blue Bell’s king cake-inspired flavor is only available for a limited time.

Blue Bell describes the flavor as cinnamon cake-flavored ice cream with tasty pieces of pastry, a colorful cream cheese swirl and festive purple candy sprinkles.

Some Louisiana stores began stocking shelves as early as Monday, Jan. 15. Stores like Oak Point Fresh Market in Denham Springs let their customers know about the release via Facebook.

Following the popularity of Bride’s Cake ice cream in New Orleans, Blue Bell has gained a reputation of sending locals into a frenzy for their popular limited-edition flavors. Some locals already seem excited about the ice cream after Facebook posts started to pop up about the release.

Contact your local grocer to make sure these flavors are in stock.
