Antoine’s Restaurant has named Chef Rich Lee as their new executive chef to replace Chef Michael Regua later this year.
Lee, who is from North Carolina, began his career in the Coast Guard in Panama City, Florida. After serving in the Coast Guard, Lee entered the culinary industry and later served as an executive steward in the U.S. Merchant Marines.
After years of working for several restaurant, Lee later moved to New Orleans where he was hired as a chef and trainer for the Sodexo corporate division and then was quickly promoted to executive chef for Sodexo’s Energy and Resource division and then senior manager of culinary development.
“I am honored to continue the next chapter of Antoine’s legacy as executive chef. To serve at the helm of this legendary restaurant is a dream come true for me, as it would be for any chef,” said Chef Lee. “I am looking forward to continuing Antoine’s tradition of French-Creole fine dining while also working with the team to establish some new features, menu items and specials. We can’t wait to serve our guests in 2019 and beyond.”
Regua, who has served as Antoine’s Executive Chef for 47 years says he will assist Lee with the transition until his retirement later this year.
