Soon, some Chick-fil-A fans can get their fast food fix in New Orleans without crossing parish lines for a drive-thru. The first stand-alone location will head to Orleans Parish in 2022.
New Orleans City Council member Kristin Palmer announced on social media that the fast-food chain will head to the Algiers Shopping Plaza Center at 4100 General DeGaulle Drive.
Something to smile about😃: the City’s first stand-alone @Chik_Fil_A
is coming to #algiers in 2022. @NOLACityCouncil approved a conditional use permit to construct a Chik-fil-A in the Algiers Plaza Shopping Ctr, 4100 General DeGaulle. 🙌 Thanks to my team for working with pic.twitter.com/UCOIkZBvfv

According to Palmer’s tweet, the City Council approved a conditional use permit for construction. Palmer said the restaurant is “coming to Algiers in 2022” but didn’t give an exact opening date for the location, yet.
While this new Chick-fil-A restaurant will be Orleans Parish’s first stand-alone location, New Orleans has other licensed restaurants on campus at Xavier University and the University of New Orleans. The new Algiers restaurant also marks the third stand-alone location on the West Bank.
