Celebration in the Oaks, the big holiday lights event at City Park, will return for 2020, a spokesperson for City Park confirmed.
This year marks the 34th anniversary of the annual holiday lights festival, which will adapt to become more COVID-friendly.
“City Park will have Celebration in the Oaks this year. We’ve been working hard to make a safe and exciting event for the people of New Orleans and the region. We’ll announce big news on Monday, so stay tuned,” director of public relations Amanda Frentz said.
More than a million dazzling lights and breathtaking displays transform New Orleans City Park for the annual holiday tradition. The event is known for its local favorites like Mister Bingle and the “Cajun Night Before Christmas.”
In previous years, Thanksgiving weekend marked the official opening of the attraction for the holiday season.
More details about this year’s event will be announced Monday morning on FOX 8 Morning Edition.
