Get your plates ready for COOLinary New Orleans. August kicks off the dining experience offering prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus at some of the city’s top restaurants during the entire month. In addition to the deals offered by more than 80 restaurants, COOLinary throws in a little lagniappe from several restaurants featuring happy hours and parking deals.
The dining promotion presents a great opportunity to help foodies cross more restaurants off their bucket lists. It’s also a chance to experience some fine dining options that can usually get pretty pricey. The deals consists of dinner menus for $39 or less. Brunch and lunch options run lower in cost.
Here’s a look at some highlights for great COOLinary dinner deals:
Bayona: Susan Spicer’s French Quarter fixture offers three courses for $39. However, diners here aren’t limited when choosing entrees. Their fixed menu allows a choice of any entree on the menu.
Brigtsen’s Restaurant: Chef Frank Brigtsen’s Riverbend staple offers a $38 three-course menu, including options of gumbo, grilled redfish and seafood stuffed eggplant.
Del Fuego Taqueria: At $17, this stands out as one of the cheaper options among the promotion’s dinner menus. Among the options are enchiladas, tacos and elotes.
Galatoire’s Restaurant: When grand dame Galatoire’s offers a deal, you partake. The $39 three-course menu at the iconic restaurant includes escargot, gumbo, blackened drum and grilled beef filet.
Galatoire’s “33” Bar and Steak: The counterpart to the Bourbon Street icon also offers its own $39 menu. Their three-course menu offers options of deviled eggs, fried Boudin, grilled paneed ribeye, sautéed Redfish and boiled drum.
Mizado Cocina: Enjoy the Latin flavors at this festive Mid-City spot offering a three-course dinner for $24.
Tableau: Dickie Brennan’s charming classic creole restaurant in the French Quarter offers quite a selection. Dive into their three-course menu for $39 including options of turtle soup, roasted duck, Redfish Bienville and filet mignon.
Rebellion Bar & Urban Kitchen: Hop on this deal at the chic Warehouse District gastropub where you can enjoy any three small plates for $19.99. Yes, in honor of late-pop icon Prince. Diners can also add a flight of three rosés for $9.
Salon Restaurant by Sucré: $25 gets you three courses at the savory French Quarter spin-off of local dessert leader Sucré. Add a three-glass wine paring for $10.
St. Roch Market: Purchase a COOLinary card, and $35 gets you three courses from any food vendor and select drinks from Mayhaw Bar. However, the special offer isn’t available on Saturday and Sunday.
Vacherie Restaurant: $25 gets you three courses at this French Quarter restaurant, including choices of BBQ shrimp and grits, Southern fried chicken breast, boiled drum and pasta. However, the COOLinary menu is not offered on Sunday or Monday.
