Creole Zydeco superstar Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes kicks off the return of the Dew Drop Jazz Hall spring concert series on Saturday, March 10.
Music lovers can kick back to the lineup of local bands at one of the oldest, unaltered rural jazz halls in the U.S. The concerts happen every other Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a brief hiatus during the Jazz Fest period, at the Dew Drop Jazz and Social Hall in Mandeville, La.
Admission for each concert is $10 per adult. Students and children can enter free. No outside food or drinks are allowed. Lawn chairs can be used outside the hall on the grounds.
The First Free Mission Baptist Church, located next door, will sell home-cooked food during the event. Soft drinks, water, beer and wine will be available for purchase. The event is hosted by the Friends of the Dew Drop.
