Could Disney’s Broadway musical Aladdin: Live From The West End  be coming to a screen near you soon?

Well, don’t get your hopes up just yet. But we have seen many reports that lead us to believe it may happen sometime this year.

With all the success Disney+ has had in the past few weeks with their earlier-than-scheduled release of Hamilton, many are wondering which live shows will come next on the streaming service.

According to Filmed on Stage, “Disney was originally planning to release Aladdin earlier this year, plans changed when another Broadway musical, Hamilton, was fast-tracked to the streaming platform from its original 2021 theatrical release.”

Filmed on Stage added that Disney+ could be seeking new content to keep the new customers that joined the platform specifically for Hamilton so they are rumored to continue the Broadway trend this year with the release of Aladdin: Live From The West End just before the end of the year.

“A representative from Disney confirmed the show was captured on film – and that the broadcast details will indeed be following soon,” Filmed on Stage said.

Aladdin: Live From The West End opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in June of 2016 and ran for three years before closing according to insidethemagic.net.

Nothing has been officially confirmed about this from Disney themselves, so for now we’ll just have to wait and see.

But don’t worry, we’ll stay “one jump ahead” and update this story when we have any new information 😉
