The Krewe of Endymion announces the return of its massive party, the Endymion Extravaganza, in 2022.
The Endymion Extravaganza is set to head back to the Mercedez Benz Superdome on February 26, 2022, the krewe announced in a release.
Originally, the event was scheduled to take place at the Morial Convention Center due to construction at the Superdome. Several schedule changes will now allow the Superdome the ability to host the party in 2022.
The krewe said this change of venue is possible “because of the short time frame for renovation work between the end of the New Orleans Saints 2021 season and the NCAA Men’s Final Four arrival in March of 2022.”
“Having the iconic Endymion parade and great musical performances back in the Superdome will not impact the renovation, that is moving forward and on schedule. We have a window of opportunity in 2022 just prior to the Final Four, and we are thrilled that Endymion and its members will be back,” said Doug Thornton, ASM Global Executive VP of Stadiums and Arenas.
Endymion will return to the Convention Center in 2023 and 2024 while work continues at the Superdome.
“We wish to thank the Convention Center and the Krewes of Zulu, Bacchus and Orpheus for allowing Endymion to use the Convention Center while we are away from ‘OUR HOME IN THE DOME,’” Ed Muniz, Krewe of Endymion captain said.
