First-Ever ‘Santa’s North Pole Steam Train’ Rolls Into New Orleans This Saturday

A new Christmas train rolls into New Orleans this holiday season. Families can hop on Santa’s North Pole Steam Train on Saturday, Dec. 16.

The Louisiana Steam Train Association will operate the historic Southern Pacific steam locomotive No. 745 to bring this holiday train alive for this one-time-only event. The steam train will board at 2:30 p.m. and depart at 3 p.m. sharp from the tracks at the Fly at the rear of Audubon Park. After departure, the train will roll to Mardi Gras World for a festive holiday party.

Passengers are encouraged to bring blankets to enjoy a special showing of ‘The Polar Express’ at the party before resuming the train ride. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served during the movie. Santa’s North Pole Steam Train which will then chug its way to the foot of Canal Street for a visit from Santa Claus.
