The Four Seasons New Orleans, the highly-anticipated luxury hotel transforming the former World Trade Center, opens at the foot of Canal Street.
Inside the hotel, a new signature restaurant from James Beard-winning chef Alon Shaya and a stunning lobby bar also welcome guests for a grand experience.
“New Orleans is a destination that has long been on our wish list,” Christian Clerc, president of global operations for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, said in a release.
Miss River, the signature dining concept from Shaya, is located on the hotel’s lobby level.
Touted as Shaya’s “love letter to Louisiana,” the menu will showcase the chef’s fresh takes on New Orleans classics. To start, Miss River serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Signature dishes at Miss River include duck and andouille gumbo, salt-crusted Gulf red snapper, a clay pot presentation of dirty rice and a whole carved buttermilk fried chicken designed for sharing.
Shaya also conceived the shareable bites menu at Chandelier Bar.
The Chandelier Bar, a new bar centered around bubbly, bites and classic cocktails, opens as the “glamorous meeting spot” at the hotel’s lobby and spills out onto a garden patio. The bar features its own elaborate centerpiece — a namesake custom chandelier of 15,000 crystals.
Headed by beverage manager Hadi Ktiri, the Chandelier Bar will serve executions of classic New Orleans cocktails, such as the Sazerac, Ramos Fizz, Hurricane and French 75.
Ktiri gained notoriety as one of the principal bartenders at the famed French 75 Bar at Arnaud’s when they won the 2017 James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program.
Premium Champagnes and sparkling wines, including Dom Pérignon and Ruinart by the glass, will also flow from the bar’s offerings. Caviar service will complement the beverage program, along with a menu of bites.
According to a release, the bar will feature live music from New Orleans artists year-round. Seating at Chandelier Bar is first come, first served.
Another restaurant concept from chef Donald Link, Chemin a la Mer, featuring a menu of steaks and seafood is slated to open this fall. Also opening this fall, is the hotel’s crescent-shaped rooftop swimming pool, a 24/7 fitness centre and a spa.
Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences also announced that it has started taking reservations for hotel stays starting Sept. 1.
