FOX 8 morning show anchor and reporter Nancy Parker unveils her third children’s book “STUCK.”
The imaginative story follows the life of Mardi Gras beads that commonly get stuck in trees during parades. The book also includes information about local Carnival traditions and history.
“You’ll fall in love with this new crop of zany characters and how they adapt to their new home above the avenue!” Parker said via a Facebook post about the book.
Parker says writing is one of her passions. While many viewers already know about her impeccable, award-winning storytelling on-air, she also loves penning books for little readers.
“It’s my happy place,” Parker said.
The news anchor said growing up, she always liked short stories and poetry. In 2010, Parker released her first book, “The Adventures of Yat and Dat: What’s Cookin’?”
“Anything in your real life can turn into fantasy just by thinking out of the box,” Parker said.
Parker will host a book signing to promote the new release from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Barnes & Noble Westbank location.
Thanks to all the nice people I met at West Jefferson Hospital Wednesday. It was fun signing STUCK at the gift shop! Thanks for stopping by !!
Parker said she will host more book signings in the future.
Her new book is now available on Amazon and should arrive in area bookstores soon.
