FOX 8 partners with New Orleans City Park to host Candy Cruise, a safe and socially-distanced Halloween event, set for Oct. 27 – rain or shine.
After much discussion about any potential impacts from Zeta, the event is still set to go on as planned. Any possible impacts should not affect the FOX 8 viewing area until mid-day tomorrow.
Guests are encouraged to be prepared for any upcoming storms.
This is a free event.
Families can visit City Park for the inaugural drive-through trick-or-treat from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cars must be in line by 8 p.m.
Cars will access City Park from Marconi Drive near Tad Gormley Stadium and collect treats from different candy stations along Roosevelt Mall Street.
FOX 8 news talent, New Orleans City Park personnel and parish agencies are scheduled to appear.
Below is a map of the drive-thru route for the event:
The new event offers a socially-distant way to still enjoy a Halloween-themed experience in City Park this October. Earlier this year, City Park was forced to cancel its two of its big Halloween events, Scout Island Scream Park and Voodoo Fest, due to coronavirus concerns.
This event is open to the public.
Stay tuned to FOX 8 for the latest updates about Candy Cruise.
