Here’s a look inside the new Virgin Hotels New Orleans, now booking for Labor Day weekend

Along with the highly-anticipated opening of the New Orleans’ Four Seasons Hotel, another high-profile hotel opening is on the horizon for this summer — the new Virgin Hotels New Orleans.

The lifestyle hotel brand announced that it has already started taking reservations for stays starting on Labor Day weekend 2021.

Virgin Hotels New Orleans also revealed a first look at the amenities inside the new $80 million project opening this summer at 550 Baronne Street in the bustling Warehouse District.

The property will feature a New Orleans-inspired design and offer multiple drinking and dining outlets, as well as a rooftop pool.

One of those drinking and dining outlets, Commons Club, will serve as the hotel’s centerpiece restaurant, bar and lounge.

Commons Club will anchor the hotel’s main entrance on the ground floor. The spot for cocktails and dining, also featuring a social space called a Shag Room, is “designed to feel like a members only experience that’s open to all,” the release said.

The hotel will also plan for specially curated entertainment and music programming, which it hopes will add to the overall experience of a “modern social club.”

On the hotel’s 13th floor, the Pool Club, a rooftop pool and lounge, will offer a haven overlooking the New Orleans skyline where guests can dine, drink and dance.

In addition, Virgin Hotels New Orleans will feature a Funny Library Coffee Shop located on the hotel’s first level. The coffee shop will serve as a communal workspace that will house an assortment of whimsical and funny books and games.

The new-build hotel will feature 238 “Chambers,” or Virgin Hotel-speak for guest rooms, including Grand Chamber Suites and two penthouses.

CEO of Virgin Hotels James Bermingham said each of the brand’s hotels are “rooted in the communities” they serve.

“With Virgin Group’s rich history in the music industry and our passion for food and culture, New Orleans is a natural fit for the expansion of the Virgin Hotels brand,” Bermingham said in a release. “We’re inspired by the city’s vibrant culture and have created a hotel that celebrates the local art, design and music in a uniquely Virgin way.”

In keeping with that spirit of being “rooted” in New Orleans, the company said it’s utilizing local design firm Logan Killen Interiors to incorporate a Southern residential feel along with Virgin’s signature style of design.

Virgin Hotels New Orleans joins Virgin Hotels’ rapidly expanding roster, including Virgin Hotels Chicago, Virgin Hotels Dallas, Virgin Hotels Nashville, and Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
