The Irish House on St. Charles Avenue closes

The Irish House, the popular Irish pub and restaurant on St. Charles Avenue, closes its doors today.

The restaurant made the announcement on its Facebook page Wednesday. Both the building and the business are for sale.

“It is with sad hearts and sincere regret that we announce that The Irish House will be closing the doors on Wednesday, May 31, 2017,” the post said.

The heartfelt post also thanks the New Orleans community for its patronage over the years.

“We cherish the relationships that were built over a pint, a meal or a song,” the post said.

Chef Matt Murphy opened the restaurant in 2011. The Irish House is located on 1432 St. Charles Avenue.
