Jazz Fest 2019: Music headliner announcement pushed to January

Music lovers hoping to start planning for the top acts heading to Jazz Fest 2019 will have to wait a little longer. Producers for the 2019 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has pushed the headliner and ticket information announcement for its 50th anniversary from December to January.

Jazz Fest organizers announced the change on Friday, Dec. 7, via a release. No information on a specific date the details will get released has been given at this time.

Jazz Fest producers announced the addition of an extra day to the festival in 2019, marking the 50th anniversary.  Thursday, April 25 will now be the opening day of the 2019 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Both of the event’s weekends will run Thursday through Sunday, April 25 – 28 and May 2 – 5.

The Festival also announced that the new day will be “Locals Thursday,” which allows anyone with a valid Louisiana ID to purchase up to two discount tickets at the gate on that day.  “Locals Thursday” discount tickets will again be only $50.

Started in 1970, Jazz Fest annually celebrates the unique culture of New Orleans and the region drawing fans from around the country and around the world.
