People United for Armstrong Park announces the fall lineup for their free Jazz in the Park concert series. Music lovers can expect a great lineup of local favorites this upcoming season.
The 2017 fall series kicks off this weekend on Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9 with Burger Fest in Crescent Park. Burger Fest features a ticketed concert on Friday night with Grammy Award-winning artists Stephanie Mills and Deniece Williams. Saturday features a day of free music from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. along with a “Burger Battle.” Festival-goers can purchase and taste food from 13 competing vendors serving different types of burgers.
The fall concerts in Armstrong Park return on Sept. 14 and continue each Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. until Nov. 2. Some of this season’s headliners include Rebirth Brass Band, John Boutte and Partners-N-Crime.
