‘Krewe de Princess’ brings Mardi Gras ball with storybook characters to City Park

The Krewe de Princess’ Children’s Mardi Gras Ball returns for its second annual event from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 9.

The Petite Princess Company welcomes all families to enjoy the event among 10 of their most popular princess and prince characters at the Pavilion of Two Sisters located in New Orleans City Park.

Led by Louisiana’s own Frog Princess, guests can come out to see characters like the Snow Sisters, Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella and Charming, the Sleeping Princess and The Tower Princess.

The princesses will treat guests to a special performance followed by dancing in the ballroom to a live DJ. Children will be able to create their own Mardi Gras mask, second line with the princesses along with fantastic photo ops! Hors d’oeuvres and king cake will also be served.

The event is one-of-a-kind, and the only ball in the city that the whole family can attend.

All ages are welcomed. Attire for the event is semi-formal or cocktail for adults. Kids are encouraged to wear their “Sunday’s Best.” Princess costumes are also acceptable.

“We have been producing wholesome family entertainment in the Louisiana for several years. Traditionally, Mardi Gras Balls are an adults-only affair. We felt there was a niche for a formal event in which families could attend and celebrate Mardi Gras together. The “Krewe de Princess” was created to do just that,” said Venessa Lewis, owner of the Petite Princess Company.

Tickets are $50 per person and are all inclusive. Infants under the age of one are free but must be held.

The Petite Princess Company, based in Baton Rouge, recently branched into New Orleans. It is the largest children’s character entertainment company in Louisiana with the title of “Family Favorite” from both Baton Rouge and New Orleans family magazines.

For several years, the company has been producing highly popular the annual Royal Princess Ball at the Louisiana Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge.
