Krewe of Bacchus toasts ‘Hollywood South’ for 2019 parade theme

Is it still too early to think about Carnival? Well, the Krewe of Bacchus already nailed down its parade theme for 2019.

The superkrewe selects “Starring Louisiana” for its 2019 parade theme. The Krewe of Bacchus announced the new theme toasting “Hollywood South” via its Facebook page.

The themed floats will “reflect movies and television shows filmed in Louisiana,” according to the post.

Parade-goers will catch the krewe’s toast to Hollywood South when the Krewe of Bacchus rolls along its traditional Uptown route on March 3, 2019.

“Please plan to join us along the Uptown Route on Bacchus Sunday (March 3, 2019). We’ll reward you with “The Best Throws of Carnival!” the krewe said in a Facebook post.

Last year, the krewe named Academy Award-winning actor J.K. Simmons as its 2018 celebrity monarch. Simmons joined the ranks of past Bacchus kings which include Danny Kaye, Bob Hope, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Anthony Mackie, Jim Caviezel, Harry Connick Jr., Larry King, Andy Garcia, Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, G.W. Bailey and others.
