The Krewe of Eve is set to roll through the streets of Mandeville at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22. The krewe's 2019 ride will parade with the theme of "Live Your Dream."
“We have a fun girl power theme this year,” captain Christi Fair said.
The krewe says it will also connect with the community in two special ways. Each of its 19 floats will roll with lavender ribbons for National Cancer Prevention Month.
“We like to parade with a purpose,” Krewe of Eve Officer Amanda Jones said.. “We have had so many of our members affected by cancer in some way this year and we wanted to help raise awareness to keep our community healthy and strong. We’re in this together!”
Also this year, the Krewe of Eve will have custom Snapchat filters that can be found along the parade route. Filters along the parade route will go live at 4 p.m. Feb. 22.
“There’s so much excitement surrounding our parade and it’s exciting to see the floats and costumes and to catch some of our custom Eve throws, but we wanted to take it a step further and connect with our parade goers through our custom filters,” said Jones. “Show us that you’re out there with us on the streets of Mandeville!”
First rolling in 1987, The Krewe of Eve has enjoyed thirty-two years of Mardi Gras fun with the residents of the North Shore and beyond.
