Krewe of Krampus eyes Dec. 5th for a creepy Christmas drive-through ‘parade’

The pandemic has forced the world to find creative and safe ways to put on events or sadly cancel altogether.

With the news of no parades for Carnival 2021, the Krewe of Krampus has already planned a COVID-safe way to hold its annual procession.

This holiday season, hop from the couch to the car and join the Krewe of Krampus for a scenic drive from New Orleans to the Alps. The drive-through “parade” will be held on Saturday, December 5th at 7 pm. Located at 5420 Franklin Avenue, families and friends can enjoy a socially-distanced night out for the cost of $10 per vehicle.

Viewers will drive through a designated route in the safety of their car with their family and friends. The performers will entertain all while social distancing outside after completing COVID-19 check-in procedures.  All krewe members will be temperature checked, masked, gloved and socially distanced as the spectators roll slowly past in their vehicles.

The 2020 Krampus “parade” will pass through a wintery forest where visitors have the option to choose if they’ve been naughty or nice. If you’ve been naughty, you will be forced down the road into the Alpine forest where you’ll be greeted by the Frau, Y’ules and maybe a Krampus Caroler or two. Choose wisely because Krampus can smell a naughty child miles away.
