As temperatures climb in southeast Louisiana, four New Orleans museums will offer free admission in July to help locals beat the heat while enjoying art.
During a campaign called “Art & A/C,” the Helis Foundation teams up with the New Orleans Museum of Art, Ogden Museum of Southern Art and Contemporary Art Center to give Louisiana residents free admission every Sunday in July.
Guests are encouraged to visit each institution’s website to reserve tickets and view hours of operation.
Additionally, the Louisiana Children’s Museum will offer free admission from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 11. Free admission tickets must be reserved in advance beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 5 at the website.
Art & A/C is an extension of the Helis Foundation’s Art for All Program. In previous years, free admission corresponded to a temperature forecast of 95 degrees or above. This year, Louisiana residents can enjoy free admission on scheduled Sundays, regardless of the forecasted temperature.
Outside of free admission this July, the Helis Foundation also helps provide free admission for all Louisiana residents at leading local institutions year-round.
Louisiana residents, with valid identification, can get free admission to NOMA and the New Orleans Botanical Garden every Wednesday; the Ogden Museum every Thursday; the Contemporary Arts Center every Sunday and the Louisiana Children’s Museum the second Sunday of every month.
